Hello!
Hey! I'm Kenya Reiko! You can call me Ken :) I'm a girl governed by nostalgia and my aesthetic intention with everything I create is an "elevated whimsy"— something playful that sparks your inner child, but still speaks of glamour. I draw inspiration from kid culture, 90's fads, foods, textiles, and fun facts about animals. I love working in bright colors and turning familiar objects into wearable art.
All pieces are handmade and slow-woven bead by bead in my little home studio in Portland, OR. It is such a joy for me to design and create these magical little gifts for you, and I hope you find something to love and cherish.
I am not an Indigenous bead artist, and I will always strive to be conscious and considerate of cultural boundaries in my work. If you're looking for Indigenous artists to support, I would love to direct you to some of my favorite creators (beadwork and more)!
Thank you for coming by! You can follow me at @rei_koco on Instagram for more info and updates.
xoxo — Ken
